Conflict of Interest

"They can't fire you for being an asshole, Dr. McKay. We shouldn't have any problems disproving the harassment charges." John looked across the desk, noting for the tenth or eleventh time how blue Dr. McKay's eyes were.

"Good," Rodney said. "I never harassed any of my students. I just informed them of their stupidity and suggested that about 80% of them switch their majors to business or English. And I might have suggested it a lot. Loudly."

"Like I said, assholery isn't a fireable offence, at least not with a fully documented case, which they don't have." John looked down at the case file. "At least none of the allegations were for sexual misconduct."

Rodney snorted. "Like I'd sleep with any of my idiot students. I prefer my men smart."

At the revelation that Rodney was gay, John had to loosen his tie slightly.

Rodney looked at the wall behind John, then back to his face. "Yale Law," he said. John nodded.

Rodney continued. "It would be unethical to sleep with a client, huh?" John nodded.

A wicked smile spread across Rodney's face. "Then let's get this thing wrapped up as quickly as possible, hmm?"

John nodded and swallowed hard.
